Winter has arrived in Colorado! It's the 3rd day of Winter and the high is only 8 degrees today! We'll warm up to the 50's by Christmas though - gotta love this weather! So the summer was a busy one of course. Mike started in July by taking a road trip up through Canada and the Northern United States with his friend Jon. They spent a little over a week on the road and put many thousands of miles on their rental car...see the pictures here. Then, Mike and Erin visited Seattle again to meet Trent and Noelle's new arrival. Erin made a quick trip to visit the family at Flathead Lake in Montana, and then we capped the summer with another weekend trip to San Diego over Labor Day.

Mike had an unexpected adventure in October when he was playing racquetball with some buddies from work...he took a direct shot to the eye from the ball. Turned out he slightly tore his retina, but due to his excellent eye-doctor, all was well and healed after just a few days.

Unfortunately, Erin's grandfather passed away in late October, so we made a quick trip to Wichita for the funeral. He was a good man and will be surely missed by his family and friends even though he has moved on to a better place now.

We spent the weekend before Christmas in Las Vegas visiting our friend Chad, as well as hanging out with Erin's brothers and significant others since they were able to drive up from San Diego.

Erin and Mike hosted Thanksgiving dinner for the first time this year and it went off without a hitch! We will attempt to do the same for Christmas as Mike's parents will venture into Montbello (our neighborhood) once again for a holiday.

It's been a great year with many, many travels (as usual), but next year is shaping up to potentially be even better! We are finally going to be able to take our well-planned, long-desired trip to Australia and New Zealand for 3 whole weeks! We are also planning on putting our townhouse on the market and finding ourselves a real house at some point next spring. Hopefully you all have had as good a year as we have and maybe we'll get to see you soon!
