Mike

Well it's been quite a year for Erin & Mike! We've been extremely busy since our last update! As had been planned for quite some time, we took the honeymoon we could not afford back when we got married...we spent three full weeks in Australia and New Zealand in January! It was everything we expected and then some. See the pictures here. When we returned, we had planned on putting our townhouse up for sale, but apparently the rest of the neighborhood had the same idea. So we waited.

In March, Mike got yet another new job. He's now back to doing what he really loves to do - travelling to client sites to install/configure/customize e-commerce websites. The company is called Blue Martini Software, however they were merged at the same time that Mike started with them with a company called ECometry Software. The "new" company doesn't have a name quite yet. Mike's been on a couple of projects since he's started, one in San Francisco, one in Las Vegas, and a couple of internal efforts as well.

The other great news that we discovered in March is that Erin became pregnant! We are expecting Jacob Anthony anytime between now and Thanksgiving (due date is 11/17) and have decorated his room accordingly (photos coming soon!). Keep your eyes plastered to this website as we will upload pictures of our new addition as soon as we get them!

As far as other travels, we spent some time in the Seattle area visiting our friends again, we spent the 4th of July at Flathead Lake in Montana, and took a little weekend trip to Rockford, Illinois to see Erin's brother and sister-in-law and their new home. Then the ban was in effect for Erin, so no more flights after that. We did manage a road trip over Memorial Day with a lot of our friends and their families up to Idaho and Yellowstone National Park. We also took a weekend trip to our timeshare in Glenwood Springs also with friends and some family.

Eventually, we decided to try and sell our townhouse even though most of our neighbors were unsuccessful and we knew we would be asking for more money. By some luck and a great real estate agent (David DeElena) we managed to sell our place after about 3 months on the market (moved out 9/17). It was unexpected so we began the task of finding our new home quickly - we saw around 35 homes in 2 weekends and settled on this one. In the meantime, we moved in with our great friends Jon and Kelly for a couple of weeks. We are very happy with our new home, but very busy trying to get unpacked and settled before Jacob arrives! It's a great house on a corner in a beautiful, peaceful neighborhood!

Somehow, we also managed to acquire two new cars this year as well. Mike has been leasing a Honda Civic (he didn't think the scooter would be sufficient transportation to the airport) since April, and Erin got a brand new Honda Pilot to tote Jacob around in a safe and easy manner. We'll be selling the Accord as soon as we can get it cleaned up and listed! If you're interested, give us a shout! ;)

Erin got some wonderful news this past summer when her boss moved up in the company - she interviewed for and was accepted to take her boss's position! It's a great promotion for Erin that keeps her busy and hopefully keeps her mind off of her ever-growing belly! :)

Well that's about it for now! It's been a wild and crazy time! If you're in town, keep in mind next spring sometime we'll have a huge housewarming/child arriving bash at our new place...keep an eye out for invites!
